Good Practice in Casting Specification and Design

Location: National Metalforming Centre, West Bromwich

One Day course aimed at those seeking to improve their knowledge of the casting and casting processes.

Although aimed primarily at Castings Buyers and Designers the course will also be suitable for new recruits, apprentices and non-technical staff seeking some grounding in the subject.

The course will cover the following topics:

Overview of casting processes and the global castings industry
Introduction to castings alloys
Typical applications for castings
Design for casting – good practice dos and don’ts, including quality control issues.

The course is suitable for all those involved in the design, specification and purchase of castings or for those considering casting as a route to manufacturing.

The cost per person is £155 plus VAT (and cc booking fee) and the price includes handouts, free copy of the latest Casting Buyer Magazine, and all refreshments.
Help will also be available with sourcing castings and finding foundries.
