Robert (Bob) Cooper IEng, Prof MICME 1944-2007
It is with regret that the Institute announces the death of Bob Cooper who passed away suddenly in May.
A patternmaker by trade, Bob showed himself to be a real hands-on foundryman. Following an apprenticeship at Paramore's he then worked at W H Booth and helped to develop the ''H'' process with Fred Hoult, before moving into sales with various foundry companies making visits to the Czech Republic and India.
Bob was a Parish Councillor at Oxspring near Sheffield and was involved with the activities of the local ICME branch for many years.
In April Bob was elected vice president of the ICME Sheffield and Chesterfield Branch and his untimely passing will sadden all his friends and colleagues.
Our sympathies go to his family.
