Visit to Albion Automotive in Glasgow

The first meeting of the Scottish Branch took place at Albion Automotive in Glasgow. Albion has been in operation in Glasgow since 1899 producing commercial vehicles. After a number of Company reorganizing the Company is now part of American Axle and Manufacturing group. The AAM group has 27 facilities throughout the world.

The Glasgow base is at present manufacturing chassis components for commercial vehicles - from 1.8 - 18 tons Gross Vehicle Weight, and for 6x4 tandem applications, up to 26 tons. These are fully machined and heat treated and assembled in the plant.
They have 2 types of rear and 1 type of front axles to suit the variety of weight of vehicles. They supply to all major Commercial Vehicle manufactures such as Volvo, DAF, and Caterpillar.
