"Technologies for Secondary Smelters"

Mike explained what the Company did. The Mottram group was formed in 1973 and comprises of two main manufacturing companies, F.E.Mottram Ltd and F.E.Mottram (Non Ferrous) Ltd. These two companies set the standard for the production of Aluminium alloys, ferro-titanium and ferro-aluminium alloys. The Aluminium products are manufactured at Congleton whilst the plant for the ferro alloys is at Sheffield.
Mike explained that the Congleton facility handled all Aluminium materials on the one site including, Swarf, Dross, Castings, Large slabs and contaminated products. He went on to inform the meeting that they supply standard ingots or sows, J.I.T. deliveries to customers like the automotive industry. They also give Technical support and Toll melting of drosses, swarf and contaminated material Mike gave a detailed presentation on the methods and technical aspects of the Company and how they are constantly changing to become more efficient and greener by producing less waste each year.
