Sad Death of Dean Ridings

Dean commenced his association with the foundry industry in 1986 when through the YTS movement he started work at Kay and Co Engineers Ltd at Bolton. Although his first job was in the machine shop it was around 1988 that Dean was drafted into the brass/iron foundry and it was here that he showed great promise moving through all the operations of the foundry, eventually establishing himself over metal distribution. In 1992 Dean moved to Donald Brown Ltd of Manchester as a shift supervisor in its gunmetal foundry. It was here again that Dean showed even more promise that in 1996 he was appointed Foundry Manager, a position he held through the foundry''s relocation in 2000 until he left the company and the industry only a few years ago.

Dean also held the position of Lancashire Branch President for the term 2002/2003. Dean Ridings sadly passed away after a battle with cancer, he leaves behind his wife Angela and his children Lauren, Fam and Ben.
