Subcon Show

Visitor numbers held up well at this year’s Subcon Show at the NEC. Taking place alongside MACH, the event attracts a range of buyers and engineers looking to find new suppliers or to look at the latest technological developments in machining, finishing, design, indeed all areas of manufacturing.

The ICME stand was supported by a number of our members this year, who were able to use the stand as a base to visit the show, whilst at the same time help with technical and sourcing enquiries. John Willetts from Vanguard Foundry and Colin Steed from Bocol Services were amongst those helping out on the ICME stand, along with National President Patrick Helly.

Many potential and current members of ICME also visited the stand over the course of the three day show as well as individuals from companies seeking to buy castings in the UK.

Pam Murrell, Operations Director of ICME was pleased with the level of interest at the show, “we were able to hand out many more copies of our magazine, the Castings Buyer, this year as well as the Foundry Yearbook and Castings Buyers Directory 2010 to potential casting users and engineers which was very encouraging. There were not many UK foundries exhibiting so I was pleased that we were able to represent the castings industry and make buyers aware of the number and range of foundries that we have here in the UK.”
