The Royal Academy of Engineering MacRobert Awards is the UK's most prestigious prize in engineering. First presented in 1969, the presentation of the Award recognises the successful development of innovative ideas in engineering.
The Award is open to any individual or organisation of any size in the public, private or charitable sectors. Applications are invited for engineering innovations in any area of science, engineering, medicine or technology. The main criteria by which entires are judged are:
Innovation - the successful exploitation of new ideas.
Commerical success - measured either financially or otherwise.
Benefit to the community - through a range of implicit means.
