To gain practical experience in using chemically bonded sand to produce moulds and cores, the Chesterfield group of the current ICME Diploma students visited Durham foundry in Sheffield on 10th April 2019.

During the visit, the group toured the foundry before being let loose to produce various moulds and cores using standard production techniques.

The group gained valuable production experience and would like to thank Mike Naylor and his team at Durham Foundry for their assistance.

Group members included: Mick Harper, Josh Sutton, Daniel Whitaker, Richard Harris and course tutor Ian James.
