The new national President of ICME, Lee Jenkins IEng FICME, was recently upgraded to a Fellow of the Institute and received his certificate from the Cast Metals Federation CEO Dr Pam Murrell FICME during a visit to the Weir Group Foundry.

Lee is the Director of Operations, ENACAR Regions (Europe, North Africa, Central Asia and Russia) for Weir Group.  He completed a BEng in Materials Engineering from Sheffield Hallam and went on to register as an Incorporated Engineer in 1993.  He was previously a Branch President of the North East Branch of ICME, and has a wealth of professional development and industrial experience from over 30 years within the ferrous foundry industry, much of which has been in senior roles.

Lee is presently leading a strategic review for ICME to consider its offering for its Members, as well as considering what is offered to new Members, Apprentices and new recruits to the industry, ensuring that ICME can play an active and relevant role as a Professional Body, UK Charity and as one of the UK industry’s bodies.
