In January 2025 ICME launched its New Management Essentials Programme, the programmes is being delivered by Andy Woodall, who has over 25 years of experience in delivering high
Impact Training having spent 15 years delivering training to frontline managers, all the way up to senior-level directors.

The programme consists of 6 full-day in-person sessions delivered 1 day per month over 6 months and 3 online coaching sessions.

Each month the programme focuses on a core set of knowledge, skills and behaviours and focuses on the delivery of these in the workplace to make a meaningful impact.

This new development programme is ideal for managers, supervisors, team leaders and those aspiring to be leaders in the foundry and castings industry. It gives individuals an opportunity to learn about the tools of management and increases knowledge of good practice to become a successful leader.

The first cohort of 12 attendees completed their course in June 2025, we asked the delegates if they would recommend this course with the responses being an overwhelming ‘yes’, with many already speaking to their employers to recommend that other colleagues attend this training.

Some of our delegate testimonials

“The course was very professional & informative and I have learned a lot of skills that I can use in my place of work.”

“Thoroughly enjoyable course Andy was a pleasure to learn from and have taken away a wealth of knowledge I didn’t have before.”

“I enjoyed the course very much. The trainer and the way of delivery made it easy to take all the information in. I strongly recommend anybody willing to take managerial responsibilities to take this course.”

“The management course has given me the skills and knowledge to better assess and tailor my approach to make the correct decisions. Being in a room of people from different foundries has allowed a conversation to flow as all students are real life to us all, unlike other management courses I’ve been on.”

Amy Worrallo, Training & Quality Manager for ICME reflects on the importance of these courses for the industry. “Technical talent is a prized commodity , by supporting the further development of employees, we are not only supporting the growth of the metal casting industry; we are ensuring successful careers of the individuals within it.”

ICME is currently running a further 2 cohorts of the programme.
