Our first Branch Event for 2 years was very well supported by around 45 foundry men & women from local foundries who made up 12 teams along with friends from Lancashire & North East Branches who were severely tested by Quizmaster Simon Alexander.

Six Rounds of 10 Questions on science & general knowledge provided great entertainment with teams able to increase their score by 50% in certain rounds – backing their knowledge by playing a ‘Joker’ card in advance of the questions.

At the end – a tie break was necessary to separate the teams from Sheffield Forgemasters & The Sand-Worms from Furniss & White both with 85% correct answers.

Defending champions from 2019 winning team The Sand-Worms from Furniss & White Foundry, finally coming out on top.

Left to right – Richard Barnes – Sam Scholes – Mark Fenyes Omega Sinto  FM Chairman Colin Blackburn – Jack Scholes

Replica – Albert Einstein trophies 3D printed/cast by Wm Cook Foundry

Pie Chips & Peas (accompanied of course by Sheffield’s famous Henderson’s Relish) were enjoyed at half time by everyone.

On behalf of the Branch – President Simon Alexander would like to thank Mark Fenyes & Team Omega Sinto FM for their ongoing support together with all of the various team members (including ICME National President Lee Jenkins) for their essential participation in making the evening a fitting memorial for Peter Gleaves former Chesterfield Foundry College lecturer & IBF Branch stalwart.
