On  June 24th, the Institute of Cast Metals Engineers (ICME) celebrated the tireless efforts and remarkable achievements of individuals who have dedicated their lives to the benefit of the industry, as well as those who have supported the Institute throughout the years.

The event was marked by an electrifying atmosphere as the audience applauded each winner for their hard work and exceptional accomplishments. This year’s ceremony was particularly special, with many young professionals, apprentices, and students being recognized for their passion and commitment as they set out on their journeys in this great industry.

The ceremony was kicked off by presenting the Oliver Stubbs Medal to Chris Allott, a distinguished FICME IEng MIMMM for his exceptional work in the industry. This was followed by the presentation of the E J Fox Medal to Mark Fenyes, FICME CEng, for his outstanding contribution.

The John Campbell Medal was awarded to Mark Samonds of ESI Group, for his ground breaking innovations in the industry, while David Hall, Prof MICME CEng, Eddie Lindsay FICME, Angela Mason MICME, Tony Sartorius FICME, and Trevor Stevenson FICME were all recognized for their Meritorious Services.

The prestigious P C Nix Award was presented to Dennis Hewitt, MICME, Lestercast Ltd, while Keiron Tighe of Fort Vale Engineering Ltd was declared ICME’s Best Apprentice and the Worshipful Co of Ironmongers’ Best Student (Ferrous). The MM Hallett Company Award went to the Bühler Group.

Adding to the excitement, ICME presented Dr David Rowlands, CEng Hon FICME MIM, with the honour of becoming an Honorary Fellow of the institute.

Certificates were also presented to Josh Yeardley, William Cook Cast Products Ltd (winner of the 2022 Worshipful Company of Ironmongers Jubilee Award) and Mark Spooner, Sylatech Ltd (winner of the 2022 Industry Contribution Award (non-ferrous), Worshipful Company of Founders).

ICME would like to congratulate all the winners for their exceptional contributions and express its gratitude to everyone who supported the Institute. With this ceremony, ICME has shown the industry the best and brightest among us and celebrated the excellence that will undoubtedly lead to a brighter future.
