It with great pleasure we announce our first female Junior Vice President, Dr Pam Murrell FICME.

After a degree in Metallurgy & Materials Science from Cardiff University and year spent studying in France, she then completed a PhD at Cranfield University whist working as a Research Assistant, before joining BCIRA (which then merged with SCRATA and in time became the Castings Technology International) to work on technical and consultancy projects.

In accepting the role of JVP, Pam said, “I am proud to be the first woman in this position and hope, just by being here, I can continue to normalise the role of women senior positions in the metals sector and the castings industry. I am looking forward to working to support the ICME team alongside my fellow officers, Andrew and Simon”.
