On Monday 2nd March 2020, the ICME Lancashire Branch were invited by Mr. Charles Hadcock DL to visit his studio and take a tour of his onsite production facility, at the Roach Bridge Mill, Preston. Charles is a renowned British sculptor with purchased works around the world, many are situated in London alone. The majority of the work are cast in Bronze, Aluminium and Cast Iron.  He produces smaller scale maquettes (prototypes) before manufacturing the final monumental works.

Branch members were treated to an exclusive tour and gained a great insight into how Charles combines his passion for engineering, mathematics and geology into a single sculpture. For those members that are primarily producing commercial castings; a glimpse into the world of bespoke high value items that would be sold through agents and galleries such as Sotheby’s was fascinating.

The Branch would like to thank Charles for his time and hospitality, and for flying the manufacturing flag for Britain.
