On Saturday 22rd February, 111 ICME members and guests gathered for the North East Branch Dinner Dance at the Gateshead Metro Centre Marriott Hotel, to enjoy an evening of good food, conversation and dancing.

NE Branch President, Bob Norman Prof MICME and his wife Pauline, welcomed the honoured guests, National President Stephen Hill FICME, his wife Wendy, Scottish Branch President Willie Howson IEng FICME and his wife Janet, together with all  the attendees, many of whom had travelled from far afield.

During the evening, the National President presented Robert Kennedy’s Gold Long Service Pin, recognising 50 years as a Member of the Institute.  The pin was accepted by Peter Jackson as Robert was unable to attend the dinner. During the acceptance speech Peter paid tribute to Robert’s long service to the Branch including being MC for the Dinner Dance for many years.

The NE Branch would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who attended, especially the companies that supported the event by sponsoring tables and supplying tombola prizes.
