Since becoming part of the branch social calender 6 years ago the sportsmans dinner has grown in popularity and tickets sell out very quickly. Whilst providing excellent entertainment and a conviviial atmosphere for socialising the event has also enabled the branch to raise money for its chosen charity, the Steve Bull Foundation. With the £1500 cheque to be presented tonight the total amount raised to date is £9000. The money has been raised with generous contributions from attendees and also from a raffle held on the night for which both individuals and organisations have donated the prizes.

Steve Bull played for Wolverhampton Wonderers for 13 years and was capped for England 13 times. It is 10 years since he launched the Steve Bull Foundation. He acknowleges the good fortune he has had and wished to give back to the community. His charity supports organisations in the West Midlands and Black Country which specialise in assisting young people, the disabled, the homeless, the sick and the disadvantaged.

Branch President Mark Holliday, Prof MICME, presented the cheque for £1500 to Steve Bull at the branch quiz night for which Steve thanked the branch for its continued support.
